Roxborough Urgent Care awarded reaccreditation from National Urgent Care Center Accreditation

Philadelphia, PA- 6/24/2021– Roxborough Urgent Care of Roxborough Memorial Hospital has earned reaccreditation from National Urgent Care Center Accreditation (NUCCA) demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The NUCCA is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and high-quality care.

Roxborough Urgent Care underwent a rigorous onsite review on June 16, 2021. During the visit, a reviewer from the National Urgent Care Center evaluated compliance standards spanning several areas including reasonable medical practice’s compliance with applicable standards, policies and procedures, rights of patients, administration, quality of care provided, quality management and improvement, clinical records and health information, facilities and environment, immediate/urgent care services, pharmaceutical services, pathology and medical laboratory services, diagnostic imaging services, employee and occupational health services, and health education and wellness.

The NUCCA process is based on standards similar to those used byJoint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). The NUCCA has been able to refine previously proven survey criteria and methods and have created a separate program of accreditation that is more streamlined, emphasizing the most important elements of quality for urgent care providers and facilities.

Once successfully completed, the accreditation is to symbolize – to patients, payers, and colleagues – the highest level of commitment to one’s patients and the practice of urgent care medicine.

“We choose to pursue reaccreditation with the NUCCA because Roxborough Memorial Hospital has some of the highest quality awards for care and safety. We wanted our urgent care center to meet the same standards for care,” said Dorothy Patzek, chief operations officer of Suburban Community Hospital Ambulatory Networks of Prime Healthcare Pennsylvania Region.

With more urgent care centers filling the gap between primary care and emergency departments by offering increased convenience and cost savings, the reaccreditation ensures providers offer safe, quality urgent care services.

Patzek added, “Receiving the reaccreditation is an honor. It means that Roxborough’s Urgent Care is operating at the highest of standards.”

This is just one of many quality and safety awards Roxborough Memorial Hospital has earned for healthcare services. Roxborough Memorial Hospital’s high-quality care has received national recognition for cardiac, stroke, and patient safety.
