Roxborough Memorial Hospital Earns Top Marks on Social Responsibility Ranking

Roxborough Memorial Hospital recognized for delivering health equity and high value care in addition to great clinical outcomes

Philadelphia, PA (July 10, 2026) —Roxborough Memorial Hospital has proudly earned an “A” grade on the 2026 Lown Hospitals Index for Social Responsibility, positioning it among the top hospitals nationally for its comprehensive commitment to health equity, value, and outcomes.

The Lown Hospitals Index is the only national ranking that evaluates how equitably care is delivered, how well hospitals invest in their communities, and whether patients receive high-value care that avoids unnecessary procedures, alongside traditional measures like clinical outcomes and patient safety. More than 50 metrics contribute to a hospital’s overall score.

Shawn Parekh, CEO of Roxborough Memorial Hospital, commented, “This recognition underscores our dedication to providing healthcare that is not only exceptional but also equitable and accessible to all members of our community. We are proud of our team’s commitment to these values.”

He further stated, “Our efforts to continually enhance the quality of care and strengthen community ties are reflected in this honor. We remain steadfast in our mission to deliver outstanding, compassionate care to our patients.”

Roxborough Memorial Hospital has consistently been recognized for excellence with the following accolades:

  • 2023-2024: Lown Institute Award for outstanding social responsibility, receiving an “A” grade in the Lown Institute Hospitals Index through strong performance across metrics of health equity, patient outcomes, and value of care.
  • 2024-2025: Lown Institute Award as one of the most socially responsible hospitals in America, receiving “A” grades in Equity, Value, and Outcomes.
  • 2025-2026: Lown Institute Award for being one of the most socially responsible hospitals in America, achieving “A” grades in Health Equity, Value of Care, Patient Outcomes, Clinical Outcomes, Inclusivity, Pay Equity, and Cost Efficiency.
  • 2025-2026: Ranked in the Top 5 in Pennsylvania for the most socially responsible and inclusive hospitals in America by the Lown Institute Hospitals Index.

“The Lown Index takes a comprehensive look at who hospitals are—their outcomes, their value, their commitment to community,” said Vikas Saini, MD, president of the Lown Institute. “An ‘A’ in social responsibility means a hospital has met high standards across the board.”
