Podiatry Residency Program

The Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency with Reconstructive Rearfoot Accreditation (PMSR/RRA) at Roxborough Memorial Hospital is designed to cultivate well-rounded podiatric physicians. Our program integrates both didactic and hands-on learning experiences, providing residents with exposure to a comprehensive array of medical and surgical subspecialties.

Program Highlights

  • Intensive Clinical Training: Residents undergo a thorough educational experience that encompasses surgical rotations, wound care management, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Additional clinical opportunities are available at Roxborough and affiliated facilities, allowing residents to learn from distinguished podiatric surgeons.
  • Didactic Learning: Weekly lectures, monthly journal clubs, and grand rounds equip residents with the knowledge necessary for success in board certification examinations in foot and ankle surgery as well as podiatric medicine. Residents are also encouraged to engage in research activities and participate in local and national podiatric conferences.
  • Hands-On Workshops: Throughout the year, residents have opportunities to enhance their surgical skills through cadaveric and sawbones workshops, where they can practice and learn innovative surgical techniques.

    Rotational Experience

    Our residency offers a diverse range of rotations, including:

    • Internal and Emergency Medicine

    • Behavioral Medicine and Anesthesia

    • Podiatric, Orthopedic, General, and Vascular Surgery

    • Pathology, Radiology, Wound Care, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Infectious Disease

    Application Process

    Prospective applicants must apply through the AACPM/CASPR system and should be on track to graduate from an accredited podiatric medical school. Externship opportunities are available for students from all affiliated podiatric institutions.
